Rub And Tug Records was formed to reissue some classic 70's / 80's Melbourne hardcore (along with anything else that takes our fancy). To date, we have only released our T-Shirt (classy!), but have a few releases raring to go... And with Depression's triumphant live reunion show the other week (their first since 1982 with original singer Spike), a perfect time to revisit Melbourne's vibrant hardcore scene...
For 2010, we have, from Depression - the previously unreleased Live At The Seaview Ballroom, the live album Ultrahardcoremegaheavypunkmetalthrash and Thrash 'Til Death. Legendary Depression guitarist / vocalist Smeer's current band Speed Demons with Play Hard, Go Fast and Melbourne's answer to Mark E. Smith / John Cooper Clarke - Grant McCracken with his band The Sham Cabaret and the punk poetry of Terabac Mars...plus, we are working on a compilation of punk / post punk Tasmanian bands (no, really!)
