A group of ladies from Birmingham, England board a bus for a day at the beach. Nothing unusual there, but these ladies are of various Asian extractions, and their day at the beach is full of colourful adventures.
This film, directed by the “Bend It Like Beckham” creator, Gurinder Chadha, pre-dates the Bollywood mania that grows worldwide, with an utterly charming set of character portraits. Terrific ensemble acting, led by the quite brilliant Zohra Segal.
